Frank Lloyd Wright (1867-1959)
Frank Lloyd Wright was a modern architect who developed an organic and distinctly American style. He designed numerous iconic buildings.

One more place to visit in Phoenix on this last day of our visit to the American Southwest.  Taliesin West Scottsdale, the home of the famous American architect Frank Lloyd Wright.
Here's a little easy VOA English for you.

Frank Lloyd Wright.  I like the site biography.com.  You have here information about this famous architect, but it is a little long and I know you need time to start packing your suitcases!
Those who are not traveling with us can take a look.  The travellers can always come back to the blog after they return.  It's really very interesting. Did you know that Wright's house in Wisconsin burned to the ground in 1914, killing his lover and 6 others?   Do you know the name of this house?  Go to biography.com for the answers.

From biography.com -->
"Widely considered the greatest architect of the 20th century and the greatest American architect of all time, Frank Lloyd Wright perfected a distinctly American style of architecture that emphasized simplicity and natural beauty in contrast to the elaborate and ornate architecture that had prevailed in Europe. He believed buildings should serve to honor and enhance the natural beauty surrounding them. With seemingly superhuman energy and persistence, Wright designed more than 1,100 buildings during his lifetime, nearly one-third of which came during his last decade."

My best,
Jane
